Carlisle in the 2021 census: 50,662 households, 89% houses, 11% flats.

Carlisle covers CA1, CA2 and CA3 — Castle, Belah, Belle Vue, Botcherby, Currock, Denton Holme, Harraby North and South, and out to Dalston and Burgh. Carlisle became part of Cumberland Council in 2023, when Cumbria's two-tier structure was replaced. That reorganisation is also why we cannot quote a census tenure figure for Carlisle: the 2021 census was collected against the old boundaries, and the comparison tool does not carry the new authority.
