Hereford covers HR1, HR2 and HR4 — Castle, Central, College, Aylestone Hill, Bobblestock, Belmont Rural and out to Credenhill. Herefordshire is a unitary authority covering the whole county. Hereford is a cathedral city with a compact historic core and a large rural hinterland, and that shapes the practical advice more than the tenure split does: in the older centre the ground floor is suspended timber and often laid directly over earth or rubble rather than a modern void, so ventilation under the floor matters as much as levelling.
