The Knightsbridge Chevron comes in two faces, Knightsbridge Chevron Natural Brushed Oak and Knightsbridge Chevron Raw Oak, both 14 x 90 x 510 mm, tongue and groove, engineered, with a 3 mm wear layer and listed for underfloor heating. For the same pattern in a kitchen, the herringbone rigid-vinyl range is the click alternative; there is no chevron in vinyl in the range.

Battenhall, Claines, Arboretum, Fort Royal, Cathedral and Lower Wick & Pitmaston all fall inside the WR1 to WR5 delivery area, as do Dines Green & Grove Farm and Kempsey further out. The mix is ordinary in the useful sense: 35.0% semi-detached, 22.2% detached, 21.6% terraced, 21.1% flats, ownership at 61.4% and nothing far from the national shape. Semi-detached stock carries one predictable complication, a party wall that carries sound both ways, and one that is often missed: a solid ground floor under a joisted first floor in the same house. Those two need different preparation and different pricing. Private renting in this part of Worcestershire has moved from 18.2% to 21.2% since the previous census.
Worcester runs from Georgian and Victorian streets around the Cathedral and Arboretum out to postwar semis at Claines, Warndon and Dines Green — a little over a third of the city semi-detached, a fifth terraced. Herringbone is the traditional zig-zag and forgives a squarer room; chevron is the continuous arrow and wants a room with length. Chevron blocks are mitred, so the setting-out is less forgiving and the border matters more. The comparison guide takes it further.

The oak chevron is for dry rooms. For a patterned floor in a kitchen the rigid-vinyl herringbone, listed as waterproof, is the range to look at; there is no vinyl chevron in the range.
In a period Worcester room it earns its cost, provided the direction is planned. Herringbone draws the eye along one diagonal, so it is set out to the room's centre line and to the main window — and the cutting loss is higher than with straight planks.
