The Knightsbridge Chevron comes in two faces, Knightsbridge Chevron Natural Brushed Oak and Knightsbridge Chevron Raw Oak, both 14 x 90 x 510 mm, tongue and groove, engineered, with a 3 mm wear layer and listed for underfloor heating. For the same pattern in a kitchen, the herringbone rigid-vinyl range is the click alternative; there is no chevron in vinyl in the range.

Semi-detached housing reaches 39.1% in Derby, the clearest single feature of the city's stock, with terraced at 21.8% and flats only 14.7%. The unitary authority takes in Allestree, Chaddesden East, North and West, Alvaston North and South, Blagreaves, Darley and Chellaston & Shelton Lock, served by DE1, DE3, DE21, DE22, DE23 and DE24. Owner occupation of 59.0% has fallen from 61.4% in 2011, while private renting moved from 16.8% to 21.3%. Semis of most periods mix a solid ground floor with timber above, so one property can need a damp-proof membrane check downstairs and an acoustic layer upstairs — better settled before a single specification is fixed for the whole house.
Semi-detached houses take close to two in five of Derby, with terraces concentrated in Arboretum, Abbey and the streets off Normanton Road. Those terraces were built for people walking to work in the railway and engineering trades, and they were built narrow.
The terraces off Normanton Road and through Arboretum were built narrow. A long board has to turn from the front door into the hall and then into the room, and with a staircase rising straight off the entrance there may not be room to make that turn.

Herringbone is the traditional zig-zag and forgives a squarer room; chevron is the continuous arrow and wants a room with length. Chevron blocks are mitred, so the setting-out is less forgiving and the border matters more. The comparison guide takes it further.
Both Knightsbridge Chevron boards are engineered, 14 mm thick, and listed for underfloor heating, on a screed that is dry and a system that has been commissioned first.
The oak chevron is for dry rooms. For a patterned floor in a kitchen the rigid-vinyl herringbone, listed as waterproof, is the range to look at; there is no vinyl chevron in the range.
Between tenancies the window is short, so choose a floor that can be laid and walked on the same day. A click system needs no curing time and no adhesive; anything bonded ties the property up for days you may not have.
