Warrington's homes, by the numbers
Warrington in the 2021 census: 90,539 households, 88% houses, 12% flats.
Two numbers carry this area: 68.7% of households own their home and 40.3% of dwellings are semi-detached, giving a stock that is owner-controlled and largely of one build type. Owners specify for the long run, which moves the conversation towards engineered board, solid wood and an underlay matched to the covering rather than to the lowest price. A semi has one shared wall, so a resilient layer beneath a hard floor upstairs remains worth the money even where nothing obliges it. Coverage spans WA1, WA2, WA4, WA5 and WA55, taking in Latchford East, Latchford West, Fairfield and Howley, Bewsey and Whitecross, Grappenhall, Appleton, Great Sankey North and Whittle Hall, Great Sankey South, Lymm North and Thelwall, and Lymm South.
Warrington combines characterful Victorian terraces near the town centre with substantial family homes in Stockton Heath, Appleton and Grappenhall, premium properties in the village of Lymm, and extensive modern developments at Chapelford, Westbrook and Omega. The town’s position at the M6/M62 junction, fast trains to Manchester, Liverpool and London, and major employer base drive consistent commuter and family demand.
Where the kitchen has been opened into the dining room, one floor now crosses a wet zone. In front of a sink, under a dishwasher and around a fridge with a water line, small leaks happen slowly and are found late.
