For the same pattern in a kitchen, the herringbone rigid-vinyl range is the click alternative; there is no chevron in vinyl in the range.

Ashton, Deepdale, Cadley and the City Centre ward sit inside the districts served from here, alongside Bamber Bridge East and West, Farington East and West, Broad Oak and Charnock; the postal spread runs PR0, PR1, PR2, PR5 and PR11. Terraces account for 29.2% of homes and semi-detached houses for 34.2%, so most jobs land in a house rather than above one. A terraced ground floor is often suspended timber, which flexes, hollows along the joist lines and creaks where boards were lifted for pipework. Screwing those boards back down and levelling the surface is what keeps a new floor from telegraphing every fault beneath it. Owner occupation stands at 58.3%.
Around a third of Preston is terraced, with Deepdale, Ashton and the City Centre wards holding most of that stock and more than one household in five renting privately. The Lancashire terrace was built before damp-proofing was routine, and it was built to let moisture pass through its fabric rather than to keep it out.

Herringbone is the traditional zig-zag and forgives a squarer room; chevron is the continuous arrow and wants a room with length. Chevron blocks are mitred, so the setting-out is less forgiving and the border matters more. The comparison guide takes it further.
Both Knightsbridge Chevron boards are engineered, 14 mm thick, and listed for underfloor heating, on a screed that is dry and a system that has been commissioned first.
The oak chevron is for dry rooms. For a patterned floor in a kitchen the rigid-vinyl herringbone, listed as waterproof, is the range to look at; there is no vinyl chevron in the range.
In a pre-war terrace, ask what the floor does with moisture before asking what it looks like: either let the ground beneath it breathe, or install a proper membrane as a system rather than brushing on a sealant. North and east of the centre the floors are modern and that question disappears.
