Four districts, CO1 to CO4, define the Colchester service area, reaching Castle, New Town and Christ Church, Highwoods, Prettygate, Shrub End and Marks Tey and Layer. Colchester combines Roman heritage in the historic centre with substantial Victorian and Edwardian villas in Lexden, modern family developments around Highwoods and Mile End, garrison housing reflecting the town’s military history, and characterful coastal properties in nearby Wivenhoe and Mersea Island.
