Ascot Ashdown Oak is the grey board of the Ascot range and the only one of the five grey oak boards with an oiled, Rustic surface: engineered European oak, 14 mm thick and 125 mm wide in random lengths from 300 mm to 1200 mm, brushed, finished with hard wax oil, with a 3 mm wear layer.

The smoked grey colour reads deeper and more even than the washed greys, and the Rustic grade lets knots and colour play show through it.

Hard wax oil in a brushed grain is the most forgiving surface in the range for a busy room: marks sit in the texture, and a worn strip in a hallway is re-oiled on its own with the manufacturer's maintenance oil. The narrow board and the random lengths give a traditional strip floor that suits period houses. Tongue and groove, micro-bevelled, listed as compatible with underfloor heating; a box covers 1.8 square metres, and the manufacturer's warranty is 15 years.

For the same grey in a wider, matt lacquered board, the Cobham Smoked Grey Oak at 150 mm or the Weybridge Light Grey and Grey Washed planks at 190 mm; for the Ascot format in a warmer tone, the Ascot Natural Brushed and Golden Oak boards share the width and the random lengths.
