Still unsure? Real people, honest advice.

A few simple decisions—finish, format and where it’ll live—make choosing your unfinished oak straightforward.

Buying guide

Best for real homes
You want real wood, genuine grain, natural texture, a floor that improves with age rather than wearing thin.
Best for open-plan spaces
You have underfloor heating. The cross-laminated core is far more stable than solid wood when temperatures fluctuate.
Best for a premium finish
You are fitting across multiple rooms and want continuity without the cost of solid parquet.

Questions

What is engineered wood flooring?
A real-oak top layer bonded to a multi-ply core. You get the authentic look and feel of solid wood with far better stability against changes in temperature and humidity.
Can I use it with underfloor heating?
Yes, engineered boards (especially 14mm with a 3mm+ wear layer) are well suited to underfloor heating, unlike most solid wood.
Can engineered wood be sanded and refinished?
Boards with a 3mm or thicker oak wear layer can typically be sanded and refinished once or twice, extending the floor’s life for decades.
How do I order the right amount?
Use the calculator on any product page, or order by box or pallet, we add 10% for cuts and waste automatically.
Do you deliver UK-wide and can I get a sample first?
Yes, kerbside pallet delivery nationwide, and samples from £1.99 so you can check colour and finish at home first.
