Ascot Natural Brushed Oak pairs a brushed surface with a UV lacquer, which is the combination for a natural oak floor that should hide small marks and still be wiped rather than oiled: engineered European oak, 14 mm thick, 125 mm wide in random lengths from 300 mm to 1200 mm, Rustic grade, with a 3 mm wear layer.

The colour is natural oak with the warmth a lacquer adds.

Brushing gives the lacquered surface a texture that breaks up reflections, so it shows fewer of the fine scratches a smooth lacquer shows, while the lacquer itself wears harder than an oil and asks for nothing but a damp mop. When the film has worn, the floor is refinished as a whole. Tongue and groove, micro-bevelled, listed as compatible with underfloor heating; each box covers 1.8 square metres, and the manufacturer's warranty is 15 years.

It sits between the Ascot Lacquered Oak (smooth) and the Ascot Brushed UV Oiled Oak (oiled) in the same format and colour. For a wider board with the same idea, the Weybridge planks at 190 mm are brushed and matt lacquered in several tones.
