For the same pattern in a kitchen, the herringbone rigid-vinyl range is the click alternative; there is no chevron in vinyl in the range.

The terraces of Canton, Roath and Grangetown are suspended timber at ground level and want levelling before anything is laid; the later estates are solid slab and want the damp-proof membrane checked. Cardiff splits almost evenly between semis and terraces, close to three homes in ten each, with the Victorian streets of Canton, Cathays, Adamsdown and Roath holding most of the older stock. Those houses sit on suspended timber floors, and the void beneath them was designed to breathe.
Cross-ventilation is what makes that work: air has to enter on one side of the house and leave on the other. A rear extension, a raised patio or a run of painted-over airbricks closes one side, the air stops moving, and the floor above it stays damp however dry the weather turns.

Herringbone is the traditional zig-zag and forgives a squarer room; chevron is the continuous arrow and wants a room with length. Chevron blocks are mitred, so the setting-out is less forgiving and the border matters more. The comparison guide takes it further.
Both Knightsbridge Chevron boards are engineered, 14 mm thick, and listed for underfloor heating, on a screed that is dry and a system that has been commissioned first.
The oak chevron is for dry rooms. For a patterned floor in a kitchen the rigid-vinyl herringbone, listed as waterproof, is the range to look at; there is no vinyl chevron in the range.
