Questions about this floor
Can Oxford Herringbone American Black Walnut Oiled 14 x 125 x 600 be used with underfloor heating?
Yes — the specification for this floor records underfloor heating as Compatible. Check the maximum surface temperature your system runs at before ordering, and follow the manufacturer's commissioning sequence for the first heating cycle.
What size are the boards?
Each board or tile measures 14mm x 125mm x 600mm. The edge detail is Micro-bevelled, which is what you see where two boards meet. Measure the room and add a waste allowance before ordering — your fitter will give you the figure for your room shape.
How long will the surface last?
The wear layer on this floor is 3mm. On a timber floor that figure decides how many times it can be sanded back and refinished; on a vinyl floor it is the clear film over the printed design and decides how long the pattern survives traffic. It is the number worth comparing between ranges.
How much does one box cover?
One box covers 1.5 Square Metres. Work out your room area first, then add the waste allowance, and order in whole boxes — a part box cannot be ordered and a short delivery stops a fit.
What warranty does it carry?
This floor carries a 15 Years. A warranty rests on the floor being laid and looked after as the manufacturer specifies, so keep the fitting notes and the subfloor readings with your paperwork.
Can I see it before I order?
Order a cut sample for £1.99 and look at it in the room it is for, at the hour you actually use that room. Grain and tone shift under artificial light, and no photograph carries that.
