Do you offer samples and how ly do you deliver?

Yes. You can order samples directly from any product page. We ship samples and full orders across the UK with dispatch. Most in-stock items are dispatched promptly with delivery options.

What is the difference between engineered wood and solid wood flooring?

Engineered wood has a real oak top layer bonded to a stable plywood base, giving it excellent dimensional stability for underfloor heating and rooms with fluctuating moisture. Solid wood is milled from a single piece of timber with a thicker wear layer that can be sanded and refinished multiple times. Both deliver a premium natural look.

Is LVT vinyl flooring waterproof?

The planks are — vinyl takes on no water, so it will not swell or lift at the joints the way timber and laminate can. That makes it a natural fit for kitchens, bathrooms and busy family homes. It replicates the look of natural wood or stone while providing hard-wearing durability, comfort underfoot and easy day-to-day maintenance.

What the BML range is

BML is our SPC range, sold as click flooring in plank format and as click floor tiles. SPC means a rigid core, which is what separates it from a flexible vinyl and gives it its particular strengths and its particular demands.

A rigid board bridges small imperfections better than a flexible one and is more stable across a temperature change. It is also click fitted and floating, which means it is quick to lay, liftable later, and needs an expansion gap at every edge.

The subfloor still decides the result

A rigid core is more forgiving than a flexible vinyl, and that is exactly why people skip the preparation and regret it. More forgiving is not the same as indifferent.

A click floor sits on the subfloor rather than being bonded to it, so any hollow becomes a place where the boards flex with every step. That flexing works the click joints, and a worked joint eventually opens. Ridges and high spots do the opposite: they lift the floor locally and create a rocking point.

Flat before anything else

Check with a long straight edge across the room and diagonally. Fill hollows with a levelling compound and grind high spots back.

Dry and tested

A rigid vinyl floor is effectively impermeable, so moisture underneath has nowhere to go. Measure rather than assume.

Clean and free of debris

A single stone under a floating floor becomes a permanent bump and a permanent noise.

The right underlay

Use what the product allows, and no thicker. Over underfloor heating an unsuitable underlay insulates the room from its own heating.

Fitting a click floor properly

Click systems are forgiving to lay and unforgiving about two things: the expansion gap and the temperature.

Let it reach room temperature

A rigid core expands and contracts with heat. A floor laid cold will move once the room warms, and a floor laid hot will shrink.

Plan the last row before the first

Work out the final width now and trim the starting row so you do not finish on a sliver.

Mix from several packs

SPC is printed from a limited set of designs. Working from several packs at once stops the same pattern repeating in a visible rhythm.

Leave the expansion gap everywhere

Walls, door frames, pipes, hearths and kitchen units all count. Cover the gap with skirting or beading afterwards.

Never pin a floating floor down

Anything screwed or fixed through the boards, including a heavy fitted unit standing on them, will make the floor buckle when it expands.

Important: Where your product documentation states a room temperature, an expansion gap or an underlay specification, that documentation governs. It comes with the product and it is what the guarantee is written against.

Where the warranty sits

Our floors carry a 25 year structural warranty against delamination and structural failure, under normal domestic use and correct installation. It does not cover surface wear, water damage or fitting errors.

Range specific terms come with the product documentation, and our terms and conditions carry the binding text. If a range document and this page ever disagree, the range document applies to that product.

Check before you sign

Inspect the pallet on delivery. A signature is treated as acceptance of the goods as delivered.

Report damage within seven days

With photographs. The window starts on the day of delivery.

Keep the batch labels

Photograph one before the packaging goes out. It identifies the production run.

Ask before you carry on

If something looks wrong, stop and contact us rather than fitting the rest of it.

Questions about the BML range

What is SPC and how is it different from ordinary vinyl?

SPC is luxury vinyl with a rigid mineral core. The rigid board bridges small imperfections in the base where a flexible vinyl follows them, it clicks together and floats over an underlay rather than being glued, and it moves less with temperature. It is still vinyl on the surface, with the same wear layer and the same decors.

Does a click floor still need a prepared subfloor?

Yes. A rigid core is more forgiving than a flexible vinyl, not indifferent. A click floor sits on the base rather than being bonded to it, so a hollow becomes a place the joint flexes and eventually opens, and a step becomes a rocking board. Dry, flat, sound and clean still apply.

Is the BML range waterproof?

It is listed as waterproof: the plank itself does not swell with water. The base under it and the joints at the edges are a separate matter, so the slab is tested for moisture before the floor goes down and the edges in a bathroom or utility are sealed to the fitting instructions.

Can BML be fitted over underfloor heating?

Yes, every plank in the range is listed as compatible. Use an underlay rated for underfloor heating, keep floor plus underlay within the 0.15 m²K/W the systems are designed for, and run the heating through its commissioning cycle before the floor is laid.
