12mm Whitby Oak Laminate Herringbone Flooring

Pale herringbone opens up a narrow space: the diagonal lines lead the eye along a corridor or across a small kitchen-diner, and a light ground makes a north-facing room feel brighter. Four bevelled edges (4V) separate the blocks so the pattern stays crisp. Fitting is by click joint, as a floating floor: underlay first, then the blocks, on a level and dry base, leaving a gap around the room for expansion. Underfloor heating is listed as compatible, and the AC4 class covers the wear of an active household. A box contains 32 blocks for 1.92 square metres; 48 boxes, or 92.16 square metres, fill a pallet.

Water is the limit of every laminate, because it enters at the joints; in an en-suite the BML Herringbone Light Oak rigid vinyl block carries a pale oak look instead. The 12mm Leicester Oak is a shade warmer and also counts among the mid browns, while the 12mm Canterbury Oak moves towards greige.
